The year was 2000 and the teen Pop craze was steaming forward full throttle. I loved this album, but realistically, I didn't have a choice but to love it. It was that time period that we ate this up and then begged for seconds. Once you get past the addictive flare of all the songs, and really listen to some of the tracks such as "Can't Make you Love Me", "What You See is What You get", "Don't Go Knockin' On My Door", "One Kiss From You" you realize these songs would never last today. They were catchy enough to survive for about a year, and then they are done. Don't misunderstand me, I still have moments where I want to hear those songs again, but stylistically, they are identical and this becomes very boring. "Oops" was a great play on words because of Britney situation at that time. Many people felt that she would be a "one hit wonder", a "here today gone tomorrow". But, as we all know, they were dead wrong and the fact that the title of the album seemed to mock those doubters, was the best part. This album had some of the best ballads Britney has ever recorded. "Where are you Now" is still one of my favs.
Stand out tracks are: "Stronger", "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know", "Where are You Now",
"Dear Diary", "I Can't Get No Satisfaction", and "Oops"
Ultimately, I gave it 3 out of 5 stars mainly because many of the songs on the album sounded too similar to one another. I loved it, but i think that it was the time period that really pushed this album to the top. This is what was hot at that time, but it doesn't really contain songs that are history making
(i.e. ..."baby one more time" which was a history making song). Even with that said it is a piece of "Britney" history that we Britfans will cherish forever. It almost like your favorite candy or junk food, you know it really isn't the best or the best for you, but it's so damn addicting and good you just can't drop it completely.
It was the first record i ever bought. By then, i was to busy listening to the singles but now, that i listen to, i realize that this actually is a very good record, and everysong is good, maybe the greatest album of Britney. Oops!...I Did It Again, marked a totally different direction from ...Baby One More Time, in this album, Britney sounds like a real artist, I mean it´s her most personal album. Now, I´m 16 years old, and i listen to bands like Smashing Pumpkins (my favorite band of all time) and Nirvana, but I still enjoy Britney´s music like always, she´s is classic right now, and her music is eternal, I know it could sound really weird, but i can play Heart ShapedBox and then Lucky, and it´s just great!!
Britney's first attempt into songwriting a song she wrote about her then somewhat hidden dating realationship with Justin Timberlake after she had left her first boyfriend in Kentwood, LA. "Dear Diary", although it is a cheesy song is very sweet and shows her potential to be one of the best popstar/songwriters in the business, she will need a former ghostwriter like me around for that, unlike the boybands. The album is simply amazing, all the songs are fun and it's a great "After A Break up" or "After a Breakdown" CD. It has songs to cheer you up, remind you how strong you are as a person, and how some jerks can't handle nice down home girls or people, no matter if they came from there themsleves. I love all the songs on here, and it shows how awesome her voice really is, since her first CD, "BOMT". She sings "Oops" wonderfully and "When your eyes say it" and it shows how amazing her voice is and the range which is above average for an alto and malegisma singer. The CD has alot of up-tempo songs about treating a woman right, and Britney is no different either. Maybe Justin should teach the boybands about treating other fans as well as he has treated Britney after the whole "debacale". I am still on the fence with the Sam, Britney, Paparazzi thing, but I was a ghostwriter no one can blame me for doing so. But the album is worth it, and the songs will make a bad day, feel a little better, and a rainy day feel sunnier, and a hard breakup or after a major breakdown alone in your bedroom feel better, especially when you know someone whom should appericate you, won't and that they can shove it up where the sun won't shine.
Oops Britney did it again ! Britney had high expectations to live upto after her smash hit album "..Baby one More Time" And did she ever fufil them ! With her album yet again debuting at #1 and creating more massive hits fot the pop-princess such as "Oops I Did It Again" "Stronger" and "Lucky" All these tracks did amazing on the charts. She also kicked off her very own sold out tour during this album period and gave an amazing performance at the VMAs. This album was another amazing album.
I love the cancions: Stronger, Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know, What U See (Is What U Get),One Kiss From You and Dear Diary.

i think this album was really an evolution of "Baby one more time",Britney start the album in great with the title song but later started the evolution of his music and his image. The clip "Stronger"show us a new Britney and this was very good for his amasing carrer. The balad "Don't let me be the last toknow" is my favourite song with the cover "Satisfaction".When this album are in the street i think Britney Spears is not a commercial image,is more than that and i think not be wrong.
yes, she did it again!!! she made a great album, number 1!!!!!
comparing the names of the songs with BOMT you can see how much shes grown in such a little time, you know names like Stronger, What you see is what you get, Dont go knocking on my door...and (i cant get no) satisfaction, wow, you gotta love that cover, she completely transformed that song and made it her own!!!
One of Britney's weakest albums.. Not that amazing, but still beautiful music..<3:) My favs are: "Stronger", "Don't let me be the last to know" and "What U see (Is what U get)".. ;D Brit's voice pulls the whole album up a lil' bit.. Total 3/5 stars..<3
Oops I did it again,I played with your hear, get lost in the game-)
Love that video,is so timeless.
Well,Oops i did it again is pretty nice album.
I love Lucky(hope it wasn't about Britney) and Oops tour was perfect, never can forget it-)
That was first time that you can said-Britney Spears is STAR.
The is my favourite! I love the music, personally i think Britney's old songs are the best like oops i did itagain¬!!! i love it so much i know all the dance moves and word by heart! and i fell in love with the song lucky the first time i heard it!!!! its the best ever! i love all these songs... i never get tired of them! britney you are the best, best singer, songwriter, dancer! your songs are beautiful, they soo good, lucky even made me cry once! that is how much i love britney's songs!
This album is purely "Britney" and cannot be described any other way.
It's the Britney that haters look back on and wish was still here,
and it's the Britney that makes her now under so much scrutany,
Its the Not quite so innocent, yet completely bubble gum pop Britney.
Although when listening to the tracks they each have a slightly sexy feel as well as the plain pop plastered over the top of them.
In the words of oops i did it again "Not that innocent", is completely how to describe the album, you dont know how to take it but people are fixed to it.
Leading on from the school girl outfit the tracks leave audiences intoxicated !!
This album is extrememely well thought out as it entices everyone, it has the lyrics that make Britney every mans fantasy as well as the beat of every little girls favourite pop track.... it's simply genious, and captured a huge audience ready for Britneys more "adult" later albums.
The track "Oops i did it again" simply somes up the whole album as not only does it have the beat of a track every girl dances to and the catchy lyrics that everyone can sing along to, but the cat suit secretely was to catch the eye of much larger target audience, and funny enough it worked!
This album with "Lucky" etc, is every little girls fantasy, and in places seem dream like,
I love it, one of my favourites.
The album's predecessor, ...Baby One More Time, set high commercial standards, but Oops! sold extremely well in North America, less so outside of the United States and Canada, though Spears has maintained a large Latin American fanbase.
The album's mixture of ballads and Eurodance beats was panned by many critics and purists, who dismissed Spears as a teen idol with little or no musical talent. Most reviewers, however, saw Spears as a pop star who never claimed to be anything but, and who succeeded at making pop music. For example, Rolling Stone magazine gave the album 3.5 stars out of 5, saying "Britney's demand for satisfaction is complex, fierce and downright scary, making her a true child of rock & roll tradition,"[1] and also refers to her "song-factory" and "fantastic pop cheese," while NME reported (with a score of 8 out of 10) that "She's modern-day pop perfection realised in a nearly, human form," [2] though it also refers to her as an "evil genius" and rather cynically compares her music to the addictive drug ketamine, based on the drug's tendency to blank the user's mind and thought processes.
According to Jive Records, Britney Spears' second album, Oops!... I Did It Again, sold more than 500,000 copies on its first day of release.[3] The album topped the U.S. Billboard 200, selling over 1.3 million units in its first week![4] She easily broke the SoundScan record for highest sales in a week by a solo female artist. The previous record was held by Alanis Morissette's 1998 album, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, which sold 469,000 copies its first week. During its second week the album sold 612,500 units and slipped to number-two,[5] and it remained seventeen weeks in the top 3 in the Billboard 200.
The record also topped the Canadian and U.S. Internet album charts, and reached a peak of number-two in the United Kingdom.
Singles off the album include the title track "Oops!... I Did It Again", "Lucky", "Stronger", and "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know". The album was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, while the title track was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

I like it and certainly it left me thinking what would she do next, good album, better than ..baby one more time, still in the easy listening-pop.

A second meeting with the unique princess of pop
When I first heard it i thought it was the same as ..baby one more time though max martin produced most of the album, but then i discovered something that made me change my mind, it was not pure bublegum pop anymore, instead she sings defiantly in such songs that directly reminds us of her debut album.
